Chapter 42, Division 7 Parks fee amendments forwarded to City Council
Commission voted to forward red-line changes to Chapter 42, Division 7 (Parks and Private Parks) to comply with local government code 212, including designating Houston territories as suburban/urban/CBD, adopting low fee option, fee-only for multifamily, collecting fees at CO issuance, adding appeal process, allowing 30% of fees in different park sectors, extending obligation time from 3 to 5 years, and revising authority from parks board to parks director. Councilmember Alcorn spoke in support and urged a future fee increase.
