New Albany Zoning Meetings

The City of New Albany's Community Development Department administers zoning. Its offices are at 7815 Walton Parkway, New Albany, OH 43054, and it can be reached at 614-939-2254. New Albany lies mostly in Franklin County, with a smaller portion extending into Licking County.

The Planning Commission hears applications for land use and zoning classifications, recommends legislative actions, and reviews legislation, rules, and regulations related to city planning, land use, and zoning. It has six members. Regular meetings are held at Village Hall, 99 W. Main Street, on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., and informal meetings are held there on the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

The Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides appeals regarding legislation and administrative determinations related to zoning and land use, and it hears variances from zoning area regulations and general development standards. The board has six members. It meets at Village Hall, 99 W. Main Street, on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Under Chapter 1125 of the New Albany Planning and Zoning Code, all territory annexed into the Municipality after May 2, 1996 is, immediately upon the effective date of the annexation, zoned into the Agricultural District (Chapter 1129). A property owner would then need to apply for a rezoning to a different district if a different use is intended.
