Northgate Regional Center Subarea Plan briefing

OPCD staff (Allison Miller, Jesse London) presented the Northgate Regional Center Plan, part of the 2026 Comprehensive Plan Amendment package of four subarea plans. Plan centers on the redeveloping former Northgate Mall site and light rail station, with strategic density/zoning changes via a future land use map, mid-block corridors negotiated for density, an ecology corridor, depaving of surface parking, and indigenous 'native neighborhood' elements. PSRC asked the city to revisit the boundary/shape of the regional center; staff intend to adopt with the existing shape to meet deadlines, then revisit. No vote taken.
