Public Power Options Study Session
Study session on public power options for Tucson (community choice aggregation, municipal utility for city sites, municipal utility for new development, and full municipalization of TEP estimated at $1-4 billion). Councilmember Schubert's motion for a 90-day public power update died for lack of a second. A substitute motion by Vice Mayor Santa Cruz directing the Commission on Climate, Energy, and Sustainability to lead exploration of long-term public power options with regular reports to Mayor and Council passed by voice vote.
