Large Quantity Water Users Ordinance
Ordinance 12188 amending Chapter 27 of the Tucson Code to establish regulations and requirements for large quantity water users, with a threshold around 7.8 million gallons (approximately 24 acre-feet) per month, applicable across the entire Tucson Water district service area. Includes added language requiring conservation plan techniques to have direct benefit to the hydrologic system within the Tucson basin, consistency with the Tucson Resilient Together climate action plan and One Water 2100 plan, and consultation with the city's chief resilience officer. Also directed the city manager, chief resilience officer, and Tucson Water to conduct not less than six months of public engagement including relevant stakeholders and the Citizens Water Advisory Committee.
