Zoning classifications used in this jurisdiction, from the adopted local code.
A-1Agricultural
Preserves agricultural production on lands beyond areas of planned urban development; concentration of housing is discouraged. The vast majority of the county's unincorporated land is zoned A-1.
RRRural Residential
Rural residential development limited to areas where sewage disposal can be handled, agricultural land value is marginal, and water supply, roads and emergency services are economically available.
R-1Residential
Residential use at a gross density of generally five dwelling units per acre or less; permits single family dwellings and supportive community facilities such as parks, schools, libraries and churches, with a central sanitary sewer system available.
CCommercial
Provides for a wide variety of commercial uses generally located at major intersections and along major roads, including general commercial uses requiring large land areas, extensive retail operations, and outdoor display.
I-1Light Industrial
Light manufacturing, wholesale, warehousing, and service uses in an attractive industrial park like setting; excludes residences and primarily retail commercial uses, providing high amenity industrial development along major roads.
I-2General Industrial
Heavy industrial uses that may create some nuisance and are not compatible with residential, office, institutional or neighborhood commercial establishments; uses must comply with applicable state regulations on noise, emissions, dust, odor, glare, vibration or heat.
RCRecreation/Conservation
Protects natural drainage courses for run-off capacity, limits permanent structures in areas subject to flooding, prevents pollution of underground aquifers, and provides open space and natural areas for recreation.
PDPlanned Development
Provides flexibility from conventional zoning regulations with increased public review for planned development projects.
WSWater Source Protection Overlay
Overlay district that preserves the quality and quantity of the area's water resources to ensure a safe drinking water supply; restricts land use activities with potential to contaminate aquifers and wellhead sites.
RRCORed Rock Corridor Overlay
Overlay district that adds design and development standards to underlying base districts along the Red Rock corridor to maximize development potential and ensure compatibility with existing and future land uses.
