FY2027 Budget and 2026 Millage Rate Discussion
Staff presented the draft FY2027 budget totaling just over $177 million (9% year-over-year increase), a proposed $3.7 million decrease in property tax revenue offset by FLOST (~$10.9 million over five months), a proposed 3% COLA, and a proposed general M&O millage rate of 4.090 mills (down from 4.817), with combined countywide rate dropping from 8.626 to 7.947 mills. State-mandated rollback rules require advertising this as an 8.9% increase despite being a net tax reduction. No vote taken; public hearing set for July 21st.
