Lake Mountain Corridor alignment discussion (work session)
Presentation and discussion of the proposed Lake Mountain Corridor (formerly 'Mid-Valley'), a future UDOT-owned regional connector road (two lanes each direction, 45-55 mph) linking SR-73 to Mountain View Corridor. Consultant presented ~15 alignment alternatives; the 8% max grade alternative was estimated at $120-140M (2028 dollars), and a 6% max grade alignment (preferred by UDOT for plowing/safety) would add roughly 20%. Property Reserve/land reserve and the LDS Church favor a more southern alignment that then runs straight east; Saratoga Springs council prefers the 'blue' alignment as close to the mountain as possible. No vote taken. Agreed next steps: traffic modeling (MAG), study the bent/southern alignment, amend both cities' TMPs, then update the MAG RTP.
