Resolution 26-116 authorizes county acquisition of water system assets and associated easement rights from Laniapoko Water Company Inc. and Oluwalu Water Company Inc. for a total purchase price of up to $6 million (excluding closing costs). Laniapoko system has 402 water meters; Oluwalu has 72 non-potable and 79 potable meters. Operating costs: Laniapoko $879,664/yr (revenue $2,561,044); Oluwalu $671,554/yr (revenue $734,363). Recommended for adoption on first reading 7-1, Council Chair Owsley voting no, Member Sinenci excused. PUC must approve the sale; not county-regulated after transfer.
