SEMCOG TAP grant for non-motorized path to East Washtenaw Community Recreation Center
Presentation of a $1.6 million SEMCOG Transportation Alternatives Program award, in partnership with Washtenaw County Parks, the Road Commission, Superior Township and Ypsilanti Township, for about one mile of 10-foot (likely concrete) path replacing deteriorated sidewalk along Clark Road and Stanford, connecting the rec center at Clark and Dawn to the skate park, the Superior Township library and a school on Holmes Road. The project includes rapid rectangular flashing beacon crossings, one certain at Wendell and one possible on Stanford. The local match comes from the non-motorized trail millage. Design is underway, with construction expected late 2027 or 2028. No vote was taken.
