The property, owned by Port 1850 LLC (Shlomo Malau), was purchased in 2019 for warehouse development. The City of Dania Beach formally opposed the amendment via 10/28/2025 vote. Commissioner Furr led opposition citing the land's role in filtering Port Everglades drainage before reaching Dania Beach Canal.
