Approved $5,000 in HPC funds to match a $7,200 federal historic preservation fund grant from SHPO to hire a consultant (approximately $12,200 total) to complete a National Register of Historic Places nomination for Johnny Tocco's Roadside Boxing Gym at 9 West Charleston Boulevard. The nomination will include a recommendation on whether to proceed with the nomination. Owner Jimmy Smith initiated interest and understands the implications of various register types.

Denied $31,500 proposal to hire Jeffrey Carlson to create seven historic blog posts at $90/hour (50 hours per article). Commission wanted more control over topic selection, article length, and potentially a competitive bidding process. Staff directed to return with a more flexible approach allowing commissioner input on specific topics and word counts.

Report by Jay Dapper of Dapper Companies regarding the status of the Huntridge Theater at 1208 East Charleston Boulevard was continued due to unexpected conflict. Quarterly reports are required per legal agreement.

Approved $6,000 for four one-hour in-person training sessions from the National Alliance of Preservation Commissioners (NAPC) CAMP program. Selected topics: Legal Basics, Enforcement and Violations, Preservation Planning, and Community Visioning and Engagement/Social Media Strategies. Infill Design Review exercise was excluded.
